Central Bureau of Health Intelligence (CBHI) was established in 1961 as per the recommendation of Mudaliar committee to function as Health Intelligence Unit under Directorate General of Health Services (Dte.GHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). CBHI is headed by Director (SAG level) from Central Health Services with specialization in Public Health and supported by officers from Indian Statistical Services (ISS) & Subordinate Statistical Services (SSS).
